The Dental Lounge, located in the heart of Haddington, East Lothian, is a well-established modern dental practice, serving the local community and surrounding areas.
We have a fantastic clinical team of 2 dentists and 1 hygienist and believe that we do things with a difference - continuously striving to maintain high standards in everything we do. Our ethos is that no two patients are alike. As a patient, you will be treated as an individual and you can be assured that behind your treatment plan lies careful planning, good experience and a whole lot of care. With a committed staff dedicated to your needs we hope to offer you a second to none dental experience.
We have four functioning state of the art dental surgeries as well as a digital x-ray room, dedicated sterilisation rooms and full disabled access. We have worked hard to ensure that The Dental Lounge provides superior dental care and treatments using modern dental technology.

Dr. Ali Bilgrami graduated from dental school in 1999. After practicing dentistry in India for three years, he moved to the UK in 2001 and worked in London till 2009.
Ali moved to Scotland and established The Dental Lounge in June 2010 with the sole aim to increase NHS access for thousands of patients and provide affordable yet quality private dental care.
He has a special interest in Cosmetic Dentistry, Implants and Dentures. Ali has helped patients of all ages achieve their best smile!
Having joined the Portman family in 2022, Ali is a Senior Dentist at the practice. Beyond the dental chair, Ali is a family man and cherishes spending time with his wife and three children, enjoys travelling and is an absolute foodie!

Valery qualified in 2013 in Venezuela where she worked before moving to the UK. She joined The Dental Lounge team back in 2016 and since then has been a great asset to the practice, she is very attentive and courteous towards her patients and always puts their best interests first.
Valery offers a wide range of NHS and Private work within the practice. She has a qualification in Clear aligners (SPARK) and enjoys helping patients achieve their perfect smile. When Valery is not at work she's kept busy running around after her little boy and enjoying quality time with her family. She also loves going on holiday and catching up with friends and family on her travels.

Muneeb gained his qualification for Dental Therapy in Dundee in 2019, since then he has been kept busy working in multiple practices. Muneeb started working in The Dental Lounge in 2022 and is in the practice three times a week working hard.
Muneeb’s friendly welcome makes the patients feel at ease and he is sure to always put a smile on their faces. He is especially great with children and helping them overcome their anxiety of coming to the dentist with making their experience a fun one. Outside of work Muneeb loves going out for food and travelling to explore new places.
I’ve been a patient of this practice for many years and cannot fault them one bit. From the excellent dentists to the wonderful nurses and receptionists it makes the dentist a pleasant experience.
